In 1969, Dave Perewitz made modifications to his 1964 Sportster, painted it and brought it to Laconia where the world got a first glimpse of what was to come from this self-taught fabricator. The response was positive, and Dave returned home a driven man, starting what would eventually become Perewitz Cycle Fab in a modest 4'x10' shed in the Perewitz backyard.
By the 1980's Dave was designing and building motorcycles from the ground up. A master painter of all designs, it was Dave's flames that would become his signature, earning him the name "The King of Flames."
Dave's business and his reputation continued to thrive. He traveled the country attending bike shows, gaining a loyal following of fans, including Hulk Hogan, the first of many celebrities to own a custom-designed Perewitz motorcycle.
In 2003 Dave began appearing on numerous TV shows, including the Discovery Channel's now-famous Biker Build-Off. This was just the first of Dave's appearances on the show, and in 2006 Dave competed against Arizona's Paul Yaffe, winning with his "Flaming Masterpiece!"
Dave and his team continue to create one-of-a-kind motorcycles for riders from the east coast to the west. One of the country's original custom builders, Dave has left an indelible mark on the craft, and continues to lead the pack with iconic style and master craftsmanship.
